Oscars 2022 Winners List: Jessica Chastain, Will Smith, CODA & Dune Take Home Big Trophies
Oscar Awards 2022 on Sunday at the traditional Dolby Theatre, saw hosts and an in-person ceremony after a long time. Here is the complete winners list of the 2022 Academy Awards.
Oscar Awards 2022 took place on Sunday, (March 27, 2022) at the traditional Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. This is also the first year after a long time when the Academy Awards saw hosts and an in-person ceremony. The star-studded evening was hosted by Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes.
All the presenters and nominees including cast and crew like writers, directors, actors and others walked the red carpet and attended the ceremony in person. The awards night also saw performances by four out of five Oscar nominees including Beyoncé, Van Morrison, Billie Eilish and others. The 2022 Oscars is special in a way where it has not only made record-breaking nominations, but also some winning moments are expected to be special.
The Power of the Dog led the night with 12 nominees however, took home only one award for Jane Campion. As most critics turned in favour of CODA, the film took home Best Picture win, along with Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor.
Meanwhile, Will Smith bagged the Best Actor for King Richard while Jessica Chastain won Best Actress for her outstanding performance in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. For Best Supporting Actor, Troy Kotsur from CODA won while West Side Story's Ariana DeBose bagged Best Supporting Actress.
