Who Are The Daniel’s - Director Duo Of ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’ That Triumphed AT Oscars 2023

Filmmaker duo Daniel Kwan and Scheinert, also known as "the Daniels", have won the Best Director award, and the joy was quite visible on their faces. It is also a film with a predominantly Asian cast.

Everything Everywhere All at Once is Kwan and Scheinert's second feature film together. Its lead actress, Michelle Yeoh, won Best Actress, while Ke Huy Quan won Best Supporting at the Oscars 95. Before the Oscars, the director duo had won a string of trophies, including the Directors Guild of America and Critics Choice awards. They were also nominated for Baftas and Golden Globes. Kwan and Scheinert beat out strong contenders, including Steven Spielberg for The Fabelmans and Todd Field for Tár, Martin McDonah for The Banshees of Inisherin, and Ruben Östlund for 'Triangle of Sadness' to win the Oscar race.

EARLY CAREER

Kwan and Scheinert have directed several music videos at the beginning of their careers. They directed music videos for singers like DJ Snake and Lil Jon's hit song 'Turn Down for What' in 2013. The duo has also worked with artists like Foster the People, The Shins, and Tenacious D.

FIRST MOVIE

The duo has previously made one movie, "Swiss Army Man," in 2016, which starred Daniel Radcliffe, who portrayed a farting corpse who is the only mate for a man stranded on a deserted island. Everything Everywhere All at Once is The Daniel's second full-length movie.

They will soon venture into television with the comedy show Mason A24 as executive-producers and director.
