Jung Chae-Yul Passes Away At 26: Here’s All You Need To Know About The South Korean 'Zombie Detective' star

Jung CHae-Yul: Jung Chae-Yul, a South Korean actress and model passed away on Tuesday (April 11) at her residence. She was 26. She rose to fame with Netflix's hit series, Zombie Detective. As per reports from South Korean media outlets, the actor was found dead at her home and her agency shared the news of her sad demise and stated that the funeral will be held privately.

The cause of her death is yet to be revealed. Jung's agency also asked fans to stay away from spreading rumours and speculations about her death until any detail is revealed to the public.

The statement from Jung's agency read, "Today, we are relaying sorrowful and heartbreaking news. Actress Jung Chae-Yul left our side on April 11, 2023. In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family who must have been in greater sadness than anyone else, the funeral will be held quietly in private. Please wish for Jung Chae Yull, who had always been earnest in her pursuit of acting, to rest in peace in a warm place. We earnestly request that you refrain from writing speculative articles or spreading rumours."

Jung's Birth And Debut

The South Korean actress was born on September 4, 1996. She started her career as a model. She made her debut in 2016 with a role in the TV series 'Devil's Runway'. She gained prominence with the show, after which she made her movie debut with Deep in 2018.

The breakthrough in her career came with the Netflix show, Zombie Detective in 2020. The K-drama wherein she essayed Bae Yoon-mi gave her distinctive recognition in the South Korean industry.

Jung Was Shooting For 'Wedding Impossible'

As per reports, the 26-year-old actress was currently shooting for her webtoon drama titled Wedding Impossible. The filming was stopped as the news of death surfaced. Her untimely demise shocked the production team, co-actors, and director. Wedding Impossible was announced in December last year and also featured Moon Sang-min and Jeon Jong-seo.
