The beloved actor, renowned for his iconic role as Chandler Bing in the popular American sitcom Friends, was found dead at his Los Angeles residence on a fateful Saturday, according to reports from US media.

Law enforcement sources revealed that those in attendance at his home found him unconscious in a hot tub and their efforts to resuscitate him were in vain, as detailed by the Los Angeles Times. While Matthew Perry fans are currently in shock, social media users are also surprised with the uncanny similarities between Bollywood superstar Sridevi and his deaths.

Taking to social media, Bigg Boss 13 contestant and Congress leader Tehseen Poonawalla shared some unexpected similarities between both deaths. In his tweet, Tehseen revealed how both the stars passed away by drowning in bathtubs at the age of 54. Yes, you read that right!

He wrote, "Both the actors: #friends star #MathewPerry and #Sridevi passed away in the bath tub! Both of these incidents happend on a Saturday their local time.

For those unaware, Sridevi passed away in her Dubai hotel room on February 24, 2018, as a result of accidental drowning. She was in Dubai to attend the wedding festivities of Mohit Marwah. While most of her family members came back, she chose to stay in Dubai with husband Boney Kapoor.

MATTHEW PERRY DEATH CAUSE

The actor's body was discovered in a jacuzzi and it's worth noting that no drugs were found in the vicinity. It is presumed that Matthew Perry may have drowned.

In response to the incident, a representative from the Los Angeles Police Department informed PEOPLE that officers were called to Matthew Perry's residence following a report of a deceased male in his 50s. However, the actor's identity was revealed later.

TMZ also reported that there was no indication of foul play associated with Perry's passing. Reportedly, first-responders were called to the residence due to what initially seemed to be a case of cardiac arrest.
