Who Was Moonbin? All You Need To Know About The K-Pop Star Who Passed Away At 25

Moonbin Death: Moonbin, a well-known member of the K-pop group ASTRO, passed away on April 19 at the age of 25. His manager found him dead at his residence located in the Gangnam district of Seoul, South Korea.

Following his death, Fantagio, his agency, released an official statement confirming the heartbreaking news on their social media platforms.

The post read, "On April 19th, Astro member Moonbin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky."

It further read, "My heart hurts even more to deliver this sudden news to the fans who have supported Moonbin and sent generous love. The Astro members who have been with us for a long time, as well as our Fantagio fellow artists and executives, are deeply mourning the deceased in great sadness and shock."

The family has requested a private funeral, with only close relatives and corporate employees present. Moonbin's passing has left his fans worldwide feeling saddened and stunned.

WHO WAS ASTRO MEMBER MOONBIN?

Moonbin, who hailed from Cheongju, South Korea, was born on January 26, 1998. He was a multitalented artist who excelled in singing, acting, and dancing.

Together with five other singers, Moonbin made his debut in the K-pop group ASTRO on February 23, 2016.

Besides Moonbin, the original lineup of ASTRO included Kim "Jinjin" Myung-jun, Park "Rocky" Min-hyuk, MJ, Yoon San-ha, and Cha Eun-woo. The group's first EP was Spring Up. Their first album, All Light, was released worldwide on January 16, 2019.

Moonbin was also part of the ASTRO sub-duo, Moonbin & Sanha. Tragically, on April 19, 2023, Moonbin was discovered deceased at his home in Seoul. Police is currently investigating his demise and is suspecting suicide.

On March 31, the singer shared his final Instagram post, which showcased three photos of Moonbin promoting a product. The images depicted Moonbin wearing a light brown outfit while holding the product in his hand.
