All About The Oscar-Winner, Brendan Fraser

The American-Canadian actor, Brendan James Fraser was born on December 3, 1968. Fraser is best known for playing the lead roles in several comedy and drama genre movies. He made his acting debut with Dogfight (1991) as a Seaman departing for Vietnam. He passed out from Cornish College of the Arts in 1990.

Brendan played his first lead in the 1992 film, Encino Man, wherein he played a frozen prehistoric caveman who is thawed out in the present. The film performed averagely at the box office. The same year, he co-starred with Matt Damon and Chris O'Donnell in School Ties.

With 'The Whale', Fraser made a triumphant return to the big screen, after suffering a series of personal misfortunes. Back-to-back films had put an insurmountable strain on Brendan's body and he required years of surgeries, which included two laminectomies (removal of bones in the spine), a partial knee replacement, and a vocal cord repair. The personal misfortunes and several physical setbacks even sent him into depression. He even lost his mother to cancer in 2016.

In spite of several obstacles on way, Brendan continued to feature in several films and TV shows.
