The Blind Side: Sandra Bullock’s Oscar Winning Role Under Scanner Michael Oher's Lawsuit Against Tuohys

Remember the 2009 release The Blind Side starring Sandra Bullock and Quinton Aaron in the lead? The movie was a sports drama based on a struggling teenager, who ends up becoming a star athlete with the help of a foster family who later adopted him. It was adapted from the book 'The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game' and was a massive hit.
And now, over a decade after its release The Blind Side has been making the headlines after it got mired in a controversy. This happened after Michael Oher, who inspired the film, filed a lawsuit against the real life Tuohys and revealed how they hadn't adopted him, unlike the film.
In the lawsuit, Oher claimed that he was misled by the Tuohys into conservatorship which granted them legal control over his business transactions. Oher also asserted that the Tuohys have been making millions in royalties from the films while he was never compensated for the story 'that wouldn't have existed without him'.
Oher's allegations have brought Sandra under the radar as well a section demands her to return the Oscar award that she had won for her performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy in the film. On the other hand, Sandra is upset about how her hard work is being tainted.
A statement released from her team read, "She hates that such a wonderful story, a spectacular movie, and a spectacular time in her life now has been tainted. Now people won't watch it and if they do, they will have a completely different reaction to its original intention".
"There was so much hard work put into the film that they all thought was the truth and now that has been questioned, it just upsets Sandra to no end that a time in her life that was so special, is now shadowed with a completely different perspective," the statement further read.
