Transformers One- Brian Tyree Henry On Bringing Megatron’s Origin To Life: Nobody Starts Out Completely Evil

The highly successful Transformers franchise aims to build upon its existing legacy with its upcoming release, Transformers One. Directed by Josh Cooley, Transformers One takes fans back to the origins of Cybertron's greatest warriors.
For fans eagerly awaiting the backstory of their favorite characters, the actor behind D-16 shares in their anticipation. He believes that an origin story allows viewers to see beyond the surface, revealing the complexities that shape a character's journey. He explains that the character has ambitions but knows his limits. It's only when D-16 discovers that everything he believed in is a lie that his world shifts dramatically, leading to a profound transformation.
Brian Tyree Henry says, "I have been looking forward to an origin story as eagerly as any other fan. Nobody starts out completely evil. At the beginning, D-16 is a scrappy, smart, hard worker who follows the rules and hates injustice. He aspires to be more, but he's not going to cross any lines. When he realizes that everything he thinks he knows is a lie, the disillusionment changes him."
Unlike the live-action Transformers movies, which depict the robots as battle-ready from birth, Transformers One presents a fresh narrative, revealing the character's transformative journey. The film delves into the deep bond between Orion Pax and D-16, shedding light on the events that ultimately led to their epic clash. The film boasts an impressive voice cast led by Chris Hemsworth, Brian Tyree Henry, and Scarlett Johansson. The stellar cast also includes Keegan-Michael Key, Steve Buscemi, Laurence Fishburne, and Jon Hamm, promising a thrilling new experience for Transformers fans. The film arrived in theaters on 20th September 2024 in India, in English & Hindi, in 2D, 3D, 4D and IMAX (3D).
