The handsome dog also won a Palme Dog price at Cannes 2023.

Barbie director Greta Gerwig serves as the jury president of Cannes 2024 and she impressed everyone with addressing #MeToo at the press conference during the opening ceremony.

Dressed in a blue and white striped outfit, Greta turned around heads by saying, as reported by Variety, "I think people in the community of movies telling us stories and trying to change things for the better is only good." She added, "I have seen substantive change in in the American film community, and I think it's important that we continue to expand that conversation. So I think it's only moving everything in the correct direction. Keep those lines of communication open."

The director also addressed ongoing labor policies, saying, "I certainly support labor movements and we've certainly gone through this just now with our unions." Greta hopes that Cannes festival workers can form "an agreement that is good for them and supports them and supports the festival."
