John Krasinski Reveals How He Cast Main Voices In Imaginary Friends
John Krasinski is thrilled about the talented ensemble he's gathered for 'Imaginary Friends', citing the unique qualities each actor brings. The film boasts an impressive cast including Phoebe Waller-Bridge and the late Louis Gossett Jr., set to captivate audiences with a blend of imagination and nostalgia.

John Krasinski's latest project, 'Imaginary Friends’, is creating a buzz for having an exceptionally talented cast. Krasinski himself is overwhelmed by the caliber of actors he has managed to assemble for this film. He believes this could be the most remarkable team of actors he will ever work with. His excitement about the project shines through as he discusses the unique attributes each cast member brings to their role.
“The voices are so specific, so funny, so bright, and have so much emotion to them. I never dreamt that I would get the cast that I did. Every imaginary friend (IF) has very personal and particular details that correspond with the kid who created them. So, with every IF in the movie, you will get to understand something about their creator – without ever meeting them – because you get to see the specific behaviors and distinctive characteristics of the imaginary friend that they created," Krasinski explained.
One of the film’s stars, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, was roped in for her unique voice, which Krasinski found perfect for his movie about imaginary friends. He recalls telling her about the movie and how, after starting to write the script, he realized he was essentially crafting it for her voice. To his delight, Waller-Bridge agreed to join the cast.
The late Louis Gossett Jr. is another casting decision that Krasinski is particularly proud of. “I still can't believe that I have Louis Gossett Jr. in my movie, on every level. He was one of my favorite actors growing up and a trailblazer in every sense. So, I wrote the part with him in mind and then he agreed to do it! It was nothing short of surreal to get to work with him,” Krasinski shared.
The stellar ensemble for 'Imaginary Friends’ includes Cailey Fleming, Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski, Fiona Shaw, and the voices of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Louis Gossett Jr., and Steve Carell. This mix of actors promises to bring to life the imaginative and emotional depth of children's imaginary friends in a unique and compelling way.
'Imaginary Friends’ is set to bring audiences on a nostalgia-filled journey back to their childhood. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 17th, offering a chance to witness the magic of imagination on the big screen.
