Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos revealed in Netflix Q2 2024 Earnings interview about 2025 plan. He claimed that Stranger Things Season 5 will be releasing in 2025. Ted said, "Looking forward to the next, you know 2025, you have got new seasons of Wednesday, Stranger Things, Night Agent, we are in production of One Piece, so there is ton of excitement there."

Stranger Things had also revealed the first scene of Season 5 Chapter 1. The first scene read, "The sound od COLD WIND. GROANING TREES. And... A CHILD'S VOICE. Singing a familiar song."
