Prime Video has unveiled first-look images and a launch date for new thriller series 56 Days, based on Catherine Ryan Howard's best-selling novel. All eight episodes will debut on Wednesday, 18 February 2026, streaming exclusively in more than 240 countries and territories.
The series adapts Howard's novel into a psychological crime drama led by a high-profile cast. Dove Cameron plays Ciara Wyse, with Avan Jogia as Oliver Kennedy, Karla Souza as Lee Reardon, and Dorian Missick as Karl Connolly, bringing the tense relationship story to screen.
56 Days Prime Video thriller series plot and structure
56 Days centres on Oliver and Ciara, who meet by chance in a supermarket and start a fast, intense romance. Fifty-six days later, homicide officers enter Oliver's flat and discover an unidentified body, brutally killed and deliberately left to decompose, raising urgent questions about both characters.
The narrative moves between the present-day investigation and earlier stages of the relationship. One timeline follows a single, pressure-filled day for detectives. The other tracks the lovers' increasingly troubled affair, building a mix of crime mystery, psychological tension, and sexual chemistry across the eight-episode run.
56 Days Prime Video thriller series creators and production
Writers and executive producers Lisa Zwerling and Karyn Usher lead the creative team. James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett also serve as executive producers for Atomic Monster, with Danielle Bozzone overseeing the project. Catherine Ryan Howard is co-executive producer, and Amazon MGM Studios co-produces with Atomic Monster.
The announcement confirms global distribution, key cast, and principal creative roles for 56 Days while underlining Prime Video's plan to deliver the entire series at once, positioning the show as a binge-ready option for crime and thriller viewers in India and worldwide.
