Golden Globe Awards 2025: Conclave, Nickel Boys, The Wild Robot, And More Nominated As Best Films Of The Year

ALL FILM NOMINATIONS For The 82nd Golden Globe Awards

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards are just around the corner, and this year the competition for the awards is going to be stiff as there are many films nominated to get awards, yet only one of them can win each category.

There are four different categories for 'Motion Picture', those being 'Best Drama', 'Best Musical Or Comedy', 'Best Animated Film', and 'Best Non-English Language Film'. Each category has six excellent nominations and for the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, here is a list of all the films nominated for the best in each of these four categories.

Films Nominated For 'Best Motion Picture - Drama' For The 82nd Golden Globe Awards

  1. A Complete Unknown - directed By James Mangold, it's a biographical film that explores the early career of Bob Dylan.
  2. Conclave - directed by Edward Berger, it's a political thriller film that shows the process of electing a new pope after the sudden death of the previous one.
  3. Dune: Part Two - directed by Denis Villeneuve, the movie continues the story of Paul Atreides on the desert planet of Arrakis.
  4. Nickel Boys - directed by RaMell Ross, a drama film based on a Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Colson Whitehead.
  5. September 5 - directed by Tim Fehlbaum, a historical film that tells the story of the journalists who reported on the 1972 Munich Olympics hostage crisis.
  6. The Brutalist - directed by Brady Corbet, a film that tells the story of a Hungarian Jewish architect, Laszlo Toth.

Films Nominated For 'Best Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy' For The 82nd Golden Globe Awards

  1. A Real Pain - directed by Jesse Eisenberg, a comedy film following two Jewish American cousins that travel to Poland to honour their late grandmother.
  2. Anora - directed by Sean Baker, a comedy drama film that follows a young sex worker from Brooklyn who impulsively marries the son of a Russian oligarch.
  3. Challengers - directed by Luca Guadagnino, a romantic sports film showing a love triangle between three young tennis professionals.
  4. Emilia Perez - directed by Jacques Audiard, a musical drama film that follows the life of former cartel leader Juan "Manitas" Del Monte, who undergoes gender affirming surgery while escaping her criminal past.
  5. The Substance - directed by Coralie Fargeat, a body horror comedy film that shows the pitfalls associated with trying to achieve eternal youth.
  6. Wicked - directed by John Chu, a musical that acts as a prequel to 'The Wizard Of Oz' and tells the story of the infamous Wicked WItch Of The West.

Films Nominated For 'Best Motion Picture - Animated' For The 82nd Golden Globe Awards

  1. Flow - directed by Gints Zilbalodis, an animated film following the story of a cat's struggle to survive as their home is covered in a massive flood.
  2. Inside Out 2 - directed by Kelsey Mann, a sequel film which explores the character of Riley who's going through puberty and experiencing new emotions.
  3. Memoir Of A Snail - directed by Adam Elliot, a stop motion film that acts as a memoir of Grace Pudel.
  4. Moana 2 - directed by David Derrick Jr, Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, an animated sequel to the first film following Moana on another sea-faring adventure.
  5. The Wild Robot - directed by Chris Sanders, the animated movie follows the story of a robot that learns to adapt to the wild and bond with the animals around it.
  6. Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl - directed by Nick Park and Merlin Crossingham, the movie follows Wallace and Gromit as they invent a new 'smart gnome' which seems to gain sentience.

Films Nominated For 'Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language' For The 82nd Golden Globe Awards

  1. All We Imagine As Light - directed by Payal Kapadia, the movie tells the story of two roommates and their complicated relationship with their partners.
  2. Emilia Perez - directed by Jacques Audiard, it's also nominated for 'Best Motion Picture - Musical Or Comedy'.
  3. I'm Still Here - directed by Walter Salles, the historical drama film shows how a family rebuilds itself after the military dictatorship during Brazil in 1971.
  4. The Girl With The Needle - directed by Magnus von Horn, the movie follows the life of a woman whose world shatters when she realizes the secret nature of her workplace.
  5. The Seed Of The Sacred Fig - directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, the movie explores the paranoia of a judge during political unrest in Tehran.
  6. Vermiglio - directed by Maura Delpero, the movie shows how the course of a family and village's life can be turned upside down with the presence of a single visitor.
