Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez Divorce Has Been Made Official, No Prenup Agreement, Other Details

Recently, on February 21st, 2025, the divorce between Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez was finalised, ending a 2-and-a-half year long marriage and months-long divorce proceedings. The divorce was actually finalised all the way back on January 6th, but the couple could only officially be considered divorce from February 21st onwards.

The couple officially tied the knot in July 2022 in Las Vegas, but had actually met and fell in love with one another almost two decades ago, on the set of the film 'Gigli' in 2003, so they had known each other for decades prior to this event. It was Jennifer Lopez who filed for divorce in the Los Angeles County Superior Court in the August of 2024, and has been prioritizing herself and her children's wellbeing over the past year.

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez did not have a prenuptial agreement prior to the marriage or divorce, which meant that they had to share all their assets, including their $60 million Beverly Hills home, though the matter has been fully settled now as the divorce has been finalised.

Even before the divorce was officially filed, there were many signs of their separation prior to Lopez's filing in August, as Ben Affleck not only skipped out on his wedding anniversary in 2024, but also on Jennifer Lopez's Bridgerton themed birthday on July 24th. Jennifer Lopez had also not wished Ben Affleck on his birthday which is on 15th August, instead opting to go for a girl's night out.

Since the couple do not share any kids, neither side is forced to pay the other child support, which means that they have no reason to stay in touch. This was further cemented when JLO also decided to drop Affleck from her last name, ending their second chance as a couple for the foreseeable future.
