Mark your calendars for April 11th as DROP takes you on an electrifying ride of suspense and thrills. This gripping first date tale, unlike anything you've seen before, is presented by Universal Pictures (distributed by Warner Bros. Discovery). Directed by the brilliant Christopher Landon, the visionary behind Happy Death Day, the film stars Emmy-nominated Meghann Fahy and the captivating Brandon Sklenar. A fresh offering from the powerhouse collaboration of Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, DROP promises to be a must-see thriller.
DROP centers on the nerve-wracking first date of Violet, portrayed by Meghann Fahy . A widowed mother cautiously stepping back into the world of love, Violet is excited when her date, Henry ( Brandon Sklenar), turns out to be just as charming and handsome as she had hoped. But as their evening progresses, things take a dark turn when an anonymous message pings her phone. Then another. And another. What initially seems like a harmless prank quickly spirals into a deadly game, where every person in the restaurant becomes either a suspect or the next target. The pulse-pounding trailer hints at escalating tension, with Violet's growing panic and a chilling confrontation where Henry's true intentions come into question. As the mysterious messages keep coming, the real danger emerges-who is behind this terrifying game, and how far will Violet go to stay alive?
While discussing her reaction to reading the script for this captivating storyline, Meghann Fahy shares, "My initial reaction to Violet when I first read the script was that she was amazing." She goes on to explain what drew her to the character, saying, "It is really cool to see this woman who has survived, is a great mom, and who works with survivors of abuse. The script felt very much like a page-turner, and it takes place primarily in one room in real time, which is always really compelling."
This intense thriller is set to hit theaters on April 11th, 2025, promising to keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. With a nail-biting storyline of mysterious messages and escalating tension, DROP will have you hooked from the first moment.
Prepare to be so captivated by this heart-pounding film that you'll want to turn off your own phone and stay fully immersed in the suspense.
