Golden Globe Awards 2025: Zoe Saldana's Gives Touching Speech As She Receives Award

Many iconic moments have been experienced and captured on camera at the Golden Globe Awards for 2025, but not many are going to be as iconic as the emotional and touching speech given by Zoe Saldana as she received her award earlier today. The actress was nominated for the 'Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture' category for her role as Rita Mora Castro in the french-musical film 'Emilia Perez' by Jacques Audiard. While she had some tough competition such as Ariana Grande, Felicity Jones, even Selena Gomez from the same film, Zoe managed to get the award for herself. Even the film she featured in, 'Emilia Perez' won the award for the Golden Globe category 'Best Motion Picture - Non-English Language'.

As Zoe Saldana received the award, she couldn't help but hold back tears as she expressed her gratitude towards everyone that helped her get to where she is now. She said the following in her speech, "I know I don't have much time, and I have dyslexia so I tend to forget when I'm really anxious and filled with adrenaline, but my heart is full of gratitude. Thank you so much to the Golden Globes for celebrating our film and honouring the women of Emilia Perez. Thank you so much. It is a first time for me and I'm just so blessed in sharing this moment with Selena and Karla and Jacque and all of my fellow nominees. I'm in awe of you, your strength, your complexity, and your undeniable talent."

She continued her speech by expressing that while she acknowledged that the Golden Globe Awards were a competition, she couldn't help but appreciate the beauty in everyone getting together to celebrate each other's films and success. She also gave a shout out to her fellow nominees for the best supporting actress category.

She ended her speech by stating that she's sharing the award with all the other nominees as well as Karla Sofía Gascon as she believes that no one else other than Gascon could have played Emilia Perez.
