It goes without saying that anime lovers and those who are a fan of giant city-destroying monsters such as Godzilla will certainly find this movie to be an amazing watch. Kaiju No. 8, both as a series and as a movie, not only combines very cool genres such as Kaijus and Sci-Fi, but also gives older viewers a very unique and relatable protagonist to relate to in Kafka.
This movie and the series as a whole is certainly not without any flaws. Many other stereotypes of the shounen anime genre are present and played out in Kaiju No. 8, such as some side characters existing primarily for gags, or a side-plot romance that never seems to resolve.
