The official Netflix YouTube channel just recently uploaded a new trailer for what appears to be the second season of an animated series that tells the story and expands upon the world of the Castlevania franchise. The series is called 'Castlevania: Nocturne' and the latest trailer for the second season can be watched below.

Plot Details Of The Netflix Animated Series 'Castlevania: Nocturne' Season 2

Netflix has described the second season of 'Castlevania: Nocturne' in the following manner, "While many Season 1 characters return, they've undergone great emotional or physical changes after their encounters with the devilishly sophisticated vampire cadre. In Season 2, Richter and his band of vampire hunters, now joined by Alucard, are in a desperate race against time. Erzsebet Bathory, the Vampire Messiah, who already seems invincible, seeks the full power of the goddess Sekhmet so she can plunge the world into endless darkness and terror."

In the trailer that shows off the beautiful animation as well as the ugly gore in the Castlevania series, we can see our protagonist and vampire hunter, Richter Belmont, becoming allies and to some degree, friends with Alucard, a vampire. All so the two can team up and take down a threat much larger than what either can face alone.

The second season of 'Castlevania: Nocturne' is created by showrunners Clive Bradley and Kevin Kolde, who worked on the series alongside the director duo Sam and Adam Deats.
