Oscars 2025: Kieran Culkin’s Speech Censored — Here's What He Said To Jeremy Strong That Got Beeped - DEETS

Oscars 2025 Update: At the 97th Academy Awards on March 2, 2025, Kieran Culkin took home the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in A Real Pain. However, it wasn't just his win that grabbed attention-it was his speech, which included a censored moment directed at his former Succession co-star, Jeremy Strong.
WHAT DID KIERAN CULKIN SAY TO JEREMY STRONG THAT GOT CENSORED?
During his speech, Culkin praised Strong, who was also nominated in the same category for his role as Roy Cohn in The Apprentice. While the live broadcast muted part of his statement, uncensored versions later revealed his words: "I love your work. It's f---ing great." Realizing his slip, Culkin immediately acknowledged, "I f---ed! I cursed! There we go! I cursed! I didn't mean to!"
Adding a personal touch, Culkin shared a humorous anecdote about his wife, Jazz Charton. He recalled how, during his Emmy win a year ago, he reminded her of a deal they had made-she had promised to have a third child if he won. However, she hadn't expected him to take home the trophy. After the ceremony, as they walked through a parking lot, Charton reluctantly acknowledged, "Oh God, I did say that, I guess I owe you a third kid." To this, Culkin had playfully responded, "Really, I want four." Charton then set the stakes higher, saying, "I will give you four when you win an Oscar."
Now, with the golden statuette in hand, Culkin humorously addressed his wife on stage: "Then, I just have this to say to you, Jazz. Love of my life, ye of little faith. No pressure. I love you. I'm really sorry I did this again. And let's get cracking on those kids, what do you say? I love you!"
Before their Oscar nominations, Culkin and Strong had captivated audiences as Roman and Kendall Roy in Succession, which wrapped up its four-season run in 2023.
