Oscars 2025: Mark Hamill To Samuel L. Jackson; Know All About Presenters Of 97th Academy Awards

The 97th Academy Awards are coming up, and there are plenty of things to look forward to in the event. Some of our favourite movies and actors are going to be celebrated for their work in the field, and it's exciting to think about who may win the final award for the many different categories. Even more exciting, though, will be to see how the presenters and performers will light up the event with their own unique ways of entertaining the audience, both in the Dolby Theatre and for those watching from home.

This year, for Oscars 2025, there is a very, very large selection of presenters and performers. The list starts off with Nick Offerman acting as the announcer for the event. Other presenters for the event include Joe Alwyn, Dave Bautista, Halle Berry, Sterling K. Brown, Penélope Cruz, Miley Cyrus, Willem Dafoe, Ana de Armas, Lily-Rose Depp, Robert Downey Jr., Elle Fanning, Gal Gadot, Andrew Garfield, Whoopi Goldberg, Selena Gomez, Mark Hamill, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Cillian Murphy, and more.

Michael Bearden will act as the conductor and musical director for the event, providing audiences with breathtaking orchestral performances, and he will be joined by Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande who will be performing a medley from their latest film 'Wicked'. Other performers for the event include Lisa, Doja Cat, Raye, Queen Latifah, and the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

Conan O'Brien will be the host for the Oscars this year. While he was not the first, nor even the second choice, he has been selected amongst many other talented individuals and will surely bring both humour and grace to an event that will appreciate it during the trying times of the California fires.

"I said yes because I am nostalgic, particularly now, about my childhood," Conan O'Brien told New York times when talking about accepting the role of host at the Oscars. "The biggest thrill I've had in my career is meeting the celebrities that were on my television when I was a little boy. So when I met Don Knotts, I lost my mind. When I met Tom Cruise, I was happy and he was very lovely to me. But it couldn't have the same impact [as Don Knotts]. And I remember watching Johnny Carson host the Oscars, and that being a big deal."

He went on to talk about the fact that perhaps the Oscars wasn't the big event it used to be, but that didn't stop him from wanting to host it. "But I still think the Oscars has meaning. Really good cinema," He told New York Times, "I don't think of it as a thankless task - even if I just do it once, and no one's interested in me doing it again, it will have been a meaningful experience for me. My parents aren't here to see it, but I know it would have been a huge deal to them."
