After several popular films are in the race for the honour this time including names like Kanguva, Aadujiveetham, Emilia Pérez, A Complete Unknown etc. Needless to say, it is going to be a tough fight to secure the nominations for the prestigious 97th Academy Awards. Interestingly, the organisers have planned a grand event to announce the nominations of Oscars 2025.

Meanwhile, owing to the Los Angeles wildfire, the Oscar nominees' luncheon has been called off completely. Issuing a joint statement, Academy CEO Bill Kramer and President Janet Yang stated, "Due to the still-active fires in the Los Angeles area, we feel it is necessary to extend our voting period and move the date of the announcement of our nomination to allow additional time for our members".
