Raja Kumari Gets Nominated For Grammy As Featured Artist On Siddhant Bhatia’s Sounds of Kumbha
Raja Kumari, an Indian-American artist, has been nominated for a Grammy for her contribution to the album Sounds of Kumbha. This project reflects her spiritual journey and blends traditional Indian music with contemporary sounds.

Raja Kumari, an Indian-American rapper, singer, and songwriter, has been nominated for the 68th Annual Grammy Awards in 2026. She is recognised as a featured artist on Siddhant Bhatia's album, Sounds of Kumbha, which is competing in the Best Global Music Album category.
Sounds of Kumbha was released in November 2025. The album draws inspiration from the Mahakumbha festival, a historic celebration of divinity and human unity. Siddhant Bhatia led this project, blending Indian and international artists to create music that combines ancient Indian sacred sounds with modern global rhythms.
Raja Kumari's Spiritual Journey
This nomination holds particular significance for Raja Kumari. Known for her unique blend of Indian classical music with hip-hop and pop, she has recently embraced more devotional themes. Her 2024 album, Kashi to Kailash, marked her first spiritual endeavour. Sounds of Kumbha continued this journey by allowing her to integrate movement and rhythm into a deeply personal soundscape.
The artist recalls recording her vocals just before attending the actual Kumbh Mela. This timing felt serendipitous as it coincided with a period of reflection and creation. During this time, she met Siddhant Bhatia, leading to a collaboration rooted in shared reverence. "I remember telling Siddhant, Kumbh is never over for me," she shares. "This album carries that spirit; it was made with no expectation, no attachment, just devotion. To see it reach the Grammys is a reminder that what's created in faith always finds its way."
A Full-Circle Moment
This marks Raja Kumari's second Grammy nomination; her first was as a songwriter for Iggy Azalea. This recognition comes at a crucial point in her artistic evolution. Having started as a classical dancer before becoming a global hip-hop voice, Sounds of Kumbha represents a return to her roots transformed by experience.
As she prepares to perform Kashi to Kailash at cultural venues like NMACC, the nomination reinforces her dedication to exploring sound, spirituality, and storytelling intersections. Raja Kumari continues building bridges between India's soul and the world's stage through her work.
