Selena Gomez Breaks Into Tears In An Emotional Video Amidst Trump's Immigration Crackdown: I Wish I Could

Recently, Selena Gomez posted a video on her Instagram making tearful statements about the current immigration crackdown that took place during Trump's presidency. In her video, which was accompanied by a Mexican flag and the words "I'm Sorry", she expressed her distaste for the current situation as well as her helplessness in preventing it.
In the now deleted video, the Emilia Perez star spoke between sobs, "My people are getting attacked, the children. I don't understand. I'm so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can't. I don't know what to do. I'll try everything, I promise." as reported by People.
The video came a day after 956 people were arrested during Trump's immigration crackdown after he took office. As per Immigration and Customs Enforcement, these are the most arrests seen in a day since Trump took office, and people are worried that it's only going to get worse from here.
This is not the first time Selena Gomez has been outspoken about her views on immigration and their ill treatment by the United States, as she worked on and executive produced the 2019 Netflix documentary 'Living Undocumented' which was directed by Aaron Saidman and Anna Chai. She took part in the documentary during 2017, stating in an article, "I watched footage outlining their deeply personal journeys and I cried. It captured the shame, uncertainty, and fear I saw my own family struggle with. But it also captured the hope, optimism, and patriotism so many undocumented immigrants still hold in their hearts despite the hell they go through."
The documentary series followed the stories of eight illegal immigrant families living in the United States, and the struggles they had to go through every day just to survive. Many individuals featured in the documentary did not have any luck with their situation regarding the immigration crisis, even after their story went public.
