'The Last Of Us' Finally Gets A Season 2 Teaser, Releasing Very Soon, More Details

The official HBO Max YouTube channel just dropped a teaser for the second season of one of the best video-game inspired series recently released. The second season teaser is for the series 'The Last Of Us' and it can be watched below.

For those of you that are curious about what this new season of the series will cover and how closely it will follow the story of the original 'The Last Of Us' games, here are some of the things you should know about the second season of this series.

Plot Details Of The Second Season Of The Zombie Apocalypse Series 'The Last Of Us'

As a small recap, the first season followed the story of Joel and Ellie who travelled across the zombie-infested ruins of the world. Ellie was discovered to be immune to the zombie virus, and it was up to Joel to bring her to a base with doctors so they could use Ellie to make a cure and save the world. Unfortunately, making the cure would've required Ellie to die, which prompted Joel to massacre the entire base filled with doctors and ruin humanity's chance at creating a vaccine. All so that he could save Ellie.

Season 2 will pick up right after the massacre, where we see a new character who people may recognize from 'The Last Of Us: Part 2' exploring the base filled with dead soldiers and doctors. Her name is Abby, and she is not the only new character we see as there is a montage of scenes featuring others such as Dina and Isaac Dixon.

The second season will follow the plot of 'The Last Of Us: Part 2' but not in its entirety, as the showrunners of the series teased that a much larger season 3 and a possible fourth season are in the works to tell the full story of the video game franchise.

Cast And Crew Behind The Series 'The Last Of Us' And Its Second Season

'The Last Of Us' and its second season will be directed by seven different directors. Three of the directors return from the first season, those being showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, as well as Peter Hoar. The new directors include some talented names such as Mark Mylod, Nina Lopez-Corrado, Stephen Williams, and Kate Herron.

The cast list for the series sees returning actors and actresses such as Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and Gabriel Luna. There are also new names though, such as Kaitlyn Dever, Isabela Merced, Jeffrey Wright, and more.

While no exact release date has been provided yet, the second season of 'The Last Of Us' and its 7 episodes will be available to watch on HBO Max sometime in April, 2025.
