'The Summer Hikaru Died' Official Trailer Released, Coming To Netflix In 2025

The Netflix Anime YouTube channel just recently dropped the official trailer for an anime that explores the story of a boy who's slowly coming to terms with the death of his friend, and that the person in front of him is not who he once knew. The anime is called 'The Summer Hikaru Died' and the official trailer for it can be watched below.

Plot Details Of The Netflix Anime Series 'The Summer Hikaru Died'

Netflix has described the anime 'The Summer Hikaru Died' in the following manner, "Two best friends living in a rural Japanese village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. Growing up together, they were inseparable... until the day Hikaru came back from the mountains, and was no longer himself. Something" has taken over Hikaru's body, memories, feelings... and everything they know begins to unravel."

Cast And Crew Behind The Anime Series 'The Summer Hikaru Died'

'The Summer Hikaru Died' is going to be directed by Ryohei Takeshita who also acts as the series composer for the anime. Joining him on the project are Yuichi Takahashi, Masanobu Hiraoka, and the animation studio CygamesPictures. The anime is based off of the manga of the same name by author Mokumokuren.

There haven't been many details released with regards to the cast list but we know the two main characters, Yoshiki and Hikaru, are being played by Chiaki Kobayashi and Shuichiro Umeda respectively.
