Britney Spears DUI Arrest Video: Britney Spears is facing a driving under the influence charge after police said the 44-year-old drove erratically on 4 March. According to a police report obtained by Page Six, officers claimed Spears swerved across lanes, almost sideswiping several vehicles, before a traffic stop led to the late-night arrest.

Spears was handcuffed at about 9:28 p.m. local time after officers said they suspected impairment. The police report stated officers noticed "the distinct odor of an alcoholic beverage" coming from Spears, and alleged that the singer showed several signs typically linked to intoxication during the roadside encounter.

In the report, officers wrote they asked Spears if any medicines or drugs had been taken before driving. Spears allegedly answered that 200mg of Lamictal, 40mg of Prozac and 2.5mg of Adderall had been taken, describing prescription treatments for bipolar disorder, depression and ADHD respectively, before starting the drive.

Police said a pill bottle labelled "Adderall" was later found in Spears' purse, and officers claimed it did not match any prescription issued to the singer. The report further stated that an empty wine glass was seen in the cup holder between the driver seat and the front passenger seat of the BMW.

Spears reportedly told officers there had been one mimosa "around 2 p.m." and said the last food eaten was ice cream at 3 p.m. When asked to rate the current level of intoxication on a scale from zero to 10, officers wrote that Spears answered "zero" and then discussed personal alcohol tolerance.

The report noted that Spears declared, "I could probably drink four bottles of wine and take care of you, I'm an angel." Officers claimed the singer's mood shifted repeatedly, describing "drastic mood swings" that moved from confrontational and agitated behaviour to a more flamboyant and compliant tone during the stop.

Police also wrote that Spears appeared to speak with a British accent at some points. Officers reported observing red, watery eyes, "rapid and slurred" speech, an unsteady gait and fidgeting fingers during the interaction. TMZ later obtained dashcam video that showed officers questioning Spears and attempting field sobriety checks.

The footage captured officers leading Spears out of frame and, at one stage, Spears asked whether the phone had been taken. Officers could be heard assuring Spears the phone remained inside the purse. A 911 caller, whose audio was obtained by Page Six, told dispatchers, "I'm reporting an erratic driving person," and added, "They are driving a BMW."

Officers stated Spears failed sobriety testing at the roadside before being arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. The account in the police documents, along with the emergency call and dashcam video, formed the initial public picture of what investigators claimed happened during the 4 March incident.
