Harry Potter HBO series full cast: The Potterhead inside me is jumping with joy as HBO has unveiled the first teaser for its new Harry Potter series. As a millennial who grew up watching Harry Potter films, I couldn't be happier. Yes, it is difficult to think of someone else other than Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, respectively; I am excited to know how HBO would handle a project that has received so much critical and commercial acclaim for its film version.

When Will Harry Potter Series Release On HBO? Release Date

The much-awaited series is slated to premiere on Christmas 2026, bringing cheers to millions of fans across the globe. The show will stream on HBO Max and air on HBO.

In a major development, the network has released the teaser of the series, confirming that it will feature eight episodes in the first season. The teaser features the young cast who will take over the charge from the original cast.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, tighten up your seat belts as Harry Potter, the series, promises to take you on a roller coaster ride. Wondering who is playing what in HP: The series?

The central trio is led by Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley. The teaser highlighted their early friendship and school life.

We also saw show Quidditch matches, the Sorting Hat ceremony, a snowball fight at Christmas. It was the redesigned Hogwarts Castle that immediately captured our attention.

Now, it's time to introduce the new Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape and Hagrid.

John Lithgow plays Albus Dumbledore, with Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall. Paapa Essiedu appears as Severus Snape, and Nick Frost takes on Rubeus Hagrid. The younger ensemble includes Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Harry Potter Original Cast

This new project returns to a story first adapted for cinema by Warner Bros. in 2001. The original film run featured eight movies that hit the silver screens between 2001 and 2011.

The OG Harry Potter cast includes Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. The series ended with a two-part version of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows". Robbie Coltrane played Hagrid, Alan Rickman was seen as Snape, while the late Maggie Smith essayed Minerva McGonagall. Ralph Fiennes portrayed the role of the main villain Lord Voldemort.

Harry Potter's series adaptation is planned as a long-running project that spans a full decade. The seasons will focus on J K Rowling's seven novels, and will remain on air till 2036.
