Lauren Gottlieb Reflects On Distance, Sacrifice & A Mother’s Unconditional Love Ahead Of Mother’s Day

Having spent years away from her family while building a career across countries, Lauren shared how distance made her realise the quiet sacrifices mothers make every single day, often without expecting anything in return. Speaking about her relationship with her mother, Lauren said, "One of the hardest parts about living away from home is missing the small everyday moments with my mom. I'll call her after really difficult days, sometimes crying over things I can't explain properly, and somehow she knows exactly what I need to hear. There are moments when I feel lonely, anxious or completely exhausted, but speaking to her grounds me and reminds me of what truly matters, the bond and unconditional love of family"

She further added, "As we grow older, we start understanding our mothers beyond just the role of being a parent. You begin to see their sacrifices, their fears, their strength and how much of themselves they quietly give to everyone around them. My mom has always encouraged me to dream fearlessly, and chase after my wildest dreams. She used to drive me one hour to and from my dance studio everyday growing up. She was my biggest supporter and champion at all my competitions. I honestly don't think I have thanked her enough for all her support and selflessness"

Lauren also reflected on how motherhood is often celebrated through grand gestures, but according to her, it's the little things that stay with you forever.
