Passenger: Actor Jacob Scipio Had A Priest Bless The Set Of Paramount's New Horror Film Releases On THIS Date

When Jacob Scipio signed on to lead Paramount Pictures' new horror film Passenger, he was no stranger to dark territory; he'd already ventured there with director André Øvredal on Dracula. But nothing quite prepared him for what unfolded on set.

The film, which arrives in Indian cinemas on 29th May 2026, follows a young couple who witness a gruesome highway accident, only to discover they didn't leave the crash scene alone. A demonic entity called the Passenger pursues them relentlessly, turning their van life adventure into a living nightmare.

For Scipio, known for his role in Bad Boys for Life and its sequel, the atmosphere surrounding this production was unlike anything he'd experienced before. The unsettling energy on set became so overwhelming that the actor took matters into his own hands.

"It helps to be scared, when you're making a scary movie," Jacob Scipio shared while speaking about the experience of filming Passenger. "We've had a bunch of things happen on this production that I don't know about, where I felt the evil spirit up there in the air."

That feeling, it turns out, was strong enough to prompt a very specific request to the producers. "So, at the beginning of production, I made a point to the producers that I wanted a priest to come here and bless our set with holy water and incantations. Because when you're inviting this kind of negative, evil spirit into your life, you have to offset that with some positive," he added.

Directed by André Øvredal, the film features Jacob Scipio, Lou Llobell, and Melissa Leo.

Paramount Pictures will be releasing Passenger in Indian Cinemas this Friday, 29th May 2026.
