Sentimental Value, Sirat And Hamnet Lead Red Lorry Film Festival’s Global Awards Showcase

The Red Lorry Film Festival (RLFF) returns to Mumbai with a powerful showcase celebrating the best of contemporary global cinema, spotlighting films from its lineup that have been recognised across the world's most prestigious awards, including the Academy Awards, BAFTAs, Césars (France) and Goya Awards (Spain).

Sentimental Value Sirat And Hamnet Lead Red Lorry Film Fest

Leading this year's lineup are three RLFF films that have emerged as major international awards contenders, all receiving nominations at both the Academy Awards and the BAFTA's, namely Sentimental Value, Sirat and Hamnet. These films have been nominated for Best Picture and/or Best International Feature at the Oscars, highlighting RLFF's strong curatorial presence.

Among them, Sentimental Value stands out as one of the most widely recognised European titles of the year, earning nominations across multiple major awards bodies. Directed by Joachim Trier and starring Renate Reinsve, Elle Fanning and Stellan Skarsgård, the film is being touted to win top honours.

Further reinforcing its strong selection, RLFF features several films connected to the César Awards, France's highest cinematic honour. Titles from the festival lineup that qualify or have received César recognition include Case 137, The Richest Woman in the World, Leave One Day, Colours of Time, Nino and Sentimental Value among others.

The festival's Spanish cinema slate is equally notable, with Goya Award-recognised titles such as The Portuguese House and Sirat forming part of the programme.

In addition to nominated titles, RLFF also shines a spotlight on films that were officially shortlisted or selected by their countries as submissions for the Academy Awards, reflecting significant national recognition even where final nominations did not materialise. These include Late Shift (Switzerland), I'm Not Everything I Want to Be (Czech Republic), Reedland (Netherlands), Sound of Falling (Germany), No Other Choice (South Korea) and The Love That Remains (Iceland).

These selections showcase Red Lorry Film Festival's commitment to presenting cinema that resonates across borders, cultures and awards platforms, offering Indian audiences a rare opportunity to experience some of the most critically celebrated films of the year on the big screen.

Now in its third edition, the Red Lorry Film Festival will take place 13-15 March 2026 in Mumbai. Festival passes are available on BookMyShow.
