After a shocking opening, the second episode begins with a memorial for A-Train, where Oh Father blames Starlight for his death, claiming she's possessed. However, the real killer, Homelander, watches silently and appears slightly emotional.
Meanwhile, The Boys regroup at Butcher's hideout. He reveals that the deadly virus is ready, created with Sameer's help, though Sameer wrongly believes Homelander killed Neuman and Zoe. Kimiko is furious with Sameer for experimenting on her, but Butcher pushes ahead with a risky plan - to test the virus on Rock Hard, an indestructible supe from Teenage Kix.
Tensions rise within the group. While Annie, MM, and Frenchie agree to follow Butcher's plan, Kimiko strongly opposes it and walks away. Emotional moments follow, with Hughie and Annie growing closer, while Kimiko and Frenchie also share a heartfelt exchange.
Elsewhere, Homelander visits A-Train's coffin and shows regret before waking Soldier Boy, offering him a deal - help find Butcher in exchange for a comeback and a place in The Seven. Though suspicious, Soldier Boy agrees.
At Teenage Kix headquarters, The Boys attempt to trap Rock Hard and inject the virus, but face unexpected challenges due to his transformed, immovable state. At the same time, global arrests of Starlighters begin, showing the growing chaos outside.
Things escalate when Soldier Boy tracks Butcher. During a confrontation, Butcher reveals the truth about the virus and shifts his plan - now aiming to test it on Soldier Boy instead. A brutal fight follows, with more supes joining in.
In the final act, the plan succeeds. Soldier Boy, along with Jetstreak and Rock Hard, gets infected and eventually dies after falling into The Boys' trap. The team escapes after sealing the area.
Back at base, Sameer confirms that the virus does not affect humans, bringing relief. While Butcher and MM celebrate the success, it's clear that the victory comes with heavy consequences. Meanwhile, MM quietly lets Countess Crow go, proving he still holds on to his humanity despite everything.

Frenchie shares a shocking update with Kimiko, warning that the virus is impossible to control and suggesting they escape somewhere safe. However, Kimiko refuses to run. She believes staying back and protecting innocent lives is the only way they can make up for their past actions.
At the same time, Hughie has an emotional conversation with Annie. While she tries to distract herself again, Hughie stops her and reassures her that she doesn't have to hide her fear. He promises to keep fighting and not let her give up, which deeply moves Annie.
In a quieter moment, Butcher visits Terror and gives him medication, showing a rare sense of calm and humanity. Meanwhile, back at the Teenage Kix house, The Deep oversees the cleanup of the bodies. When Homelander arrives, Deep warns him about the virus and assumes he knowingly used Soldier Boy as a test subject.
Homelander denies it and sends him away. Alone, he breaks down with guilt, blaming himself for Soldier Boy's death. Just when it seems over, a major twist unfolds - Soldier Boy, believed to be dead, suddenly moves inside the body bag. He's still alive.
