Shutter
Islands
is
one
of
the
most
awaited
movies
of
the
year
brining
in
two
legends
of
Hollywood
together.
One
of
Hollywood's
most
famous
directors,
Martin
Scorsese
who
is
known
for
a
different
genre
of
movies
than
horror
casts
Titanic
star
Leonardo
DiCaprio
on
the
movie.
The
two
legends
are
teaming
up
for
the
third
time
after
having
delivered
two
great
movies
Gangs
of
New
York
in
2002
and
The
Aviator
in
2004.
Shutter
Island
is
a
screen
adaptation
of
the
2003
novel
of
the
same
name
by
Dennis
Lehane.
The
movie
revolves
around
this
hospital
for
criminally
insane
on
an
island
in
the
Boston
Harbor
in
the
year
1954.
Shutter
Island
is
not
about
mystery
but
about
solving
the
mystery.
Once
again
Martin
Scorsese
proves
that
he
cannot
be
predicted
beyond
an
expectation.
The
movie
combines
some
breathtaking
technical
work
with
memorable
performances.
US
Marshall
Teddy
Daniels
(Leonardo
DiCaprio)
has
been
sent
to
a
mental
asylum
on
Shutter
Island
to
investigate
the
disappearance
of
an
inmate
who
is
believed
to
still
be
somewhere
on
the
island.
However,
along
with
his
partner
Chuck
Aule
(Mark
Ruffalo),
he
finds
his
investigation
blocked
at
every
turn
by
the
doctors
in
charge
of
the
facility
chiefly
Dr.
John
Cawley
(Ben
Kingsley).
A
hurricane
hits,
they
uncover
a
sinister
experiment,
patients
escape,
and
all
hell
breaks
loose.
Teddy
starts
to
suffer
from
flashbacks
to
the
murder
of
his
wife
Dolores
Chanal
(Michelle
Williams)
and
unsure
of
exactly
who
to
trust.
He
had
murdered
his
manic
depressive
wife
after
she
had
drowned
their
three
children.
All
this
had
taken
a
toll
on
Teddy
Daniels's
life
and
he
had
been
a
mental
patient
at
the
hospital
for
two
years.
In
a
twist
of
life
he
turns
an
investigator
and
comes
to
investigate
in
the
same
mental
asylum.
Shutter
Island
is
a
trademark
Scorsese
movie
and
seems
very
moody
and
enigmatic
at
times.
Leonardo
DiCaprio
is
at
his
magical
best
in
the
movie
and
carries
through
Scorsese's
idea
on
his
shoulder
through
perfection.
At
138
minutes
of
runtime,
Shutter
Island
is
one
of
the
most
intriguing
of
the
recent
times.
Martin
Scorsese
has
added
yet
another
film
to
his
list
of
cinematic
achievements.
With
Shutter
Island.
