Director
Shana
Feste
took
a
failed
attempt
to
turn
pop
stars
into
great
actors
through
the
latest
offering
Country
Strong.
It
only
indicates
that
country
singers
may
sometime
turn
a
good
actor
but
the
actors
cannot
probably
make
country
stars.
Starring
Gwyneth
Paltrow
and
country
singer
Tim
McGraw,
Country
Strong
is
a
disastrous
film
at
the
start
of
the
year.
Most
of
the
numbers
by
Paltrow
in
the
film
has
been
reduced
to
brief
snippets
and
often
they
got
lost
by
the
roar
of
the
crowd
or
by
her
band.
Her
Kelly
Canter
act
was
more
karaoke
than
country.
Paltrow
as
the
renowned
country
singer
Kelly
Canter
is
coming
out
of
rehab
with
the
help
of
her
husband
James
(Tim
McGraw).
Even
though
he
loves
her,
he
is
more
in
love
with
her
bank
account
as
he
also
manages
her
career.
A
young
and
upcoming
country
singer
Beau
(Garrett
Hedlund)
takes
this
opportunity
to
come
closer
to
Kelly
only
to
benefit
his
career.
She
falls
for
Beau,
who
uses
the
opportunity
to
rise
in
his
career.
On
the
other
hand,
James
is
grooming
an
upcoming
singer
Chiles
(Leighton
Meester)
to
open
for
Kelly"s
comeback.
In
the
meantime,
all
the
relationships
will
get
juggled
and
complications
start
arising
among
them.
The
film
is
very
poor
in
performance
as
well
as
story
wise
and
is
worth
watching
at
home
after
some
days!
