The Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 1 Movie Review

Rating:
4.0/5

Finally the drama filled movie from the Hunger Games franchise is out! The Hunger Games Mockingjay- Part 1 is the third installment from the franchise. THG Mockingjay- Part 1 is a from the third book of Suzanne Collins's "Hunger Games" trilogy, into two separate productions. This is the first half of the last book.

If you have read Suzanne Collins' trilogy, then you have some surprise as the third installment from the Hunger Games movie is a little different from the pages we read. The basic story is that Katniss Everdeen aka Jennifer Lawrence leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the tyrannical and corrupt Capitol. She is named 'Mockingjay' from the first release from the series, which is a rare bird in its genre, an action adventure with an interesting mind and a resonant spirit. The war will become ugly as it will determine the fate of Panem. In the process, other districts will get destroyed by the Capitol and Katniss must decide for herself who she can trust and what needs to be done.

The Hunger Games Mockingjay-Part 1 Movie Review

We have a lot of action and drama in the Mockingjay-Part 1 where rebel Katniss brings down a fighter plane with her bow. Liam Hemsworth who is playing Gail Hawthorne is having an important role finally in the series! Thanks to Peeta aka Josh Hutcherson who joined hands with the Capitol, President Snow (as a prisoner, and prize hostage), Gail got a chance to show his acting and action skills on the screen.

The movie is slow paced in the beginning which is quite expected considering the first release, Hunger Games. Katniss is beautifully dressed by Effie Trinket aka Elizabeth Banks. Katniss realises in the film that she is not here to show her beauty but to be the lifesaver for her District.

Julianne Moore looks fierce as the rebel president, Alma Coin. Other new roles are also strong and competitive which keeps the movie entertaining. All in all, The Hunger Games Mockingjay- Part 1 is a nice watch. If you are a Hunger Games fan, then watch it for the visual effects, drama and Katniss' courage.
