Titled Finale Destination Bloodlines, fans were eagerly awaiting its release since its announcement, and their wait has finally ended today (May 15, 2025).
This 2025 supernatural horror film, Final Destination 6 follows the familiar pattern of death chasing survivors, but adds a fresh twist by tying the curse to a family's bloodline. With a gripping story and shocking visuals, the film tries to bring something new to fans of the series, though it doesn't quite reach the highs of earlier installments, but is a must-watch.
Let's take a look at the full review of Final Destination Bloodlines here:
FINAL DESTINATION BLOODLINES PLOT REVIEW
The story begins in 1968, where Iris Campbell has a terrifying vision of a deadly explosion at the opening of a restaurant tower named 'Skyview'. She warns the people in time, preventing the tragedy. However, this act interferes with "Death's design," starting a chain reaction of gruesome deaths that now haunt her descendants. Fast-forward 56 years, her granddaughter Stefani Reyes, played by Kaitlyn Santa Juana, starts having disturbing dreams about the incident. As she reconnects with her family, people around her begin dying one after another in horrific accidents.
Stefani tries to uncover the truth and discovers a chilling fact: everyone born because Iris saved lives that day was never meant to exist, and now Death wants to correct that mistake. With the help of her family and the mysterious William Bludworth (played once again by Tony Todd), Stefani tries to find a way to beat Death's design. But will she be able to defeat death and save her family? You've to watch the film to find out.
The plot has many clever twists, especially in the second half. The deaths are creative and shocking, with intense scenes that keep you on edge. One standout is a scene involving an MRI machine and body piercings that's both brutal and unexpected. Just when it seems like the film is heading toward a predictable ending, it takes a dark and unexpected turn.
However, the movie isn't perfect. The pace slows down a bit after the first major death, and some characters feel underdeveloped. Also, the emotional moments between Stefani and her estranged mother feel a bit rushed. While the idea of a curse passing through generations is new for this series, it doesn't always feel fully explored.
FINAL DESTINATION BLOODLINES PERFORMANCE REVIEW
Kaitlyn Santa Juana gives a strong performance as Stefani, balancing fear, determination, and confusion well. Tony Todd once again adds mystery and depth to the story, and the supporting cast does a decent job, even if their roles are mostly brief. Among the supporting characters, Richard Harmon (Stefani's cousin Erik) and Rya Kihlstedt (Stefani's estranged mother) stand out.
FINAL DESTINATION BLOODLINES OVERALL VERDICT
Overall, Final Destination Bloodlines may not be the strongest entry in the series, but it still delivers what fans expect: chilling deaths, suspenseful scenes, and a shocking ending. The movie is worth watching, especially for those who have followed the franchise over the years. It may not completely match the impact of earlier films, but it still manages to leave a lasting impression.
