Kannada Actor Chetan Chandra Faces Brutal Attack Near Bengaluru, Sparks Social Media Outcry

Chetan Chandra Assaulted: Kannada actor Chetan Chandra, known for his roles in popular Sandalwood films like "PUC," "Premism," "Rajadhani," and "Jarasandha," reportedly encountered a harrowing ordeal on Sunday night in Kaggalipura, just outside Bengaluru. The actor shared details of the incident via video on social media.
On Mother's Day, Chetan Chandra had taken his mother to a temple and was returning home when he was allegedly attacked by a group of around 20 individuals. The actor narrated the incident through an Instagram Live session, explaining that the attack occurred after his car was followed and damaged by a seemingly inebriated individual. Subsequently, a larger group assembled and assaulted him near Kaggalipura.
Chetan Chandra revealed that he sustained injuries, including a broken nose, during the altercation. He sought medical attention at a nearby hospital and documented his injuries in an Instagram Live video. The actor informed viewers about the attack and emphasised his demand for justice, stating that he had lodged a police complaint regarding the incident.
In the video, Chetan Chandra described the sequence of events, recounting how the situation escalated when the intoxicated individual hit his car and later summoned a group of people who proceeded to assault him.
The actor's ordeal has sparked outrage on social media, with many expressing solidarity and demanding justice for him. The hashtag "Justice for Chetan Chandra" has gained traction as netizens call for accountability.
Chetan Chandra On His Work Front
Chetan Chandra, the son of K. B. Ramachandra and B. N. Anusuya, is known not only for his acting prowess but also for his academic achievements. He graduated with a degree in information science engineering.
His acting career commenced with the 2008 film "PUC," where he starred opposite Harshika Poonacha, but gained greater recognition for his role in "Premism." In preparation for "Kumbha Rashi," he dedicated himself to a strenuous workout regimen to sculpt an impressive eight-pack physique. Additionally, he has secured a role in "Nindru Kolvaan," a Tamil film directed by V. P. Shankar.
