"Matsyagandha" marks Pruthvi's debut as a police officer, a role he has previously portrayed in Tulu cinema. The storyline centres on an incident involving his character, a probationary ASI, and his subsequent journey with the rest of the cast. In addition to directing, Devraj Poojary has penned the screenplay for the film.

In "Matsyagandha," Prashanth Siddhi debuts as a music director and also plays a negative character, alongside Bhajarangi Loki as a fisherman and Sharath Lohitashwa as the antagonist.
