According to film industry trackers Karnataka Talkies, Raayan has grossed an impressive ₹3.55 crore at the Karnataka box office in just 2 days. The film has seen sensational full houses on single screens, with many centres outperforming their Day 1 collections. On its opening day, Raayan collected ₹1.8 crore, followed by ₹1.75 crore on the second day. With 78% of its investment already recovered, Raayan is proving to be a strong performer in the regional market.

Raayan, an ordinary young man, sets out on a quest for vengeance after his family's death, infiltrating the perilous world of an organised crime syndicate to find those responsible.
Raayan Cast and Crew
"Raayan" marks Dhanush's second directorial venture, following his 2017 film "Pa Paandi." In February, Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan revealed that, while he did not write the script for "Raayan," he played a significant role in the film. The cast includes Dhanush as Raayan "Raaya," S.J. Suryah, Prakash Raj, Sundeep Kishan, and Kalidas Jayaram as Raayan's brothers, Dushara Vijayan as Raayan's sister, and Selvaraghavan. The film also features performances from Imman Annachi, Aparna Balamurali, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Saravanan, Aranthangi Nisha, Anikha Surendran, and Ramachandran Durairaj. This exceptional ensemble is expected to deliver compelling performances, heightening anticipation for the movie.
The film's music was composed by A. R. Rahman. The first single, "Adangaatha Asuran," debuted on May 9, 2024, followed by the second single, "Water Packet," on May 24, and the third single, "Raayan Rumble," on July 5. The audio launch, presenting the full album, took place on July 6, 2024, at Sriram Engineering College in Chennai.
Dhanush wrote and directed the film, which was produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner. The cinematography was handled by Om Prakash, and the editing was by Prasanna GK.
Dhanush's previous release was "Captain Miller" in 2023, and he is also set to appear in the multilingual film "Kubera," directed by Sekhar Kammula, alongside Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh. With "Raayan," Dhanush continues to expand his horizons as both an actor and director.
