Sumalatha Ambareesh Pens A Heartfelt Note On Darshan’s Arrest, ‘Nothing Has Been Proven Against Him’

Darshan In Murder Case: Kannada actor Darshan's arrest in a murder case came as a shock to many. While many came out and talked about the same, some of his allies remained mum. On Thursday, one of them, politician Sumalatha Ambareesh broke silence about his arrest and penned a lengthy note in Kannada about the actor in his alleged involvement in a murder case.

Sumalatha Ambareesh Opened Up About Darshan's Involvement In Murder Case

Sumalatha started the long note by expressing condolences to Renukaswamy's family. Stating that she is praying for a legal justice for Darshan, Sumalatha revealed praying for his wife and parents. Addressing why she stayed mum for long, Sumalatha wrote, "You do not understand the bond between my family and Darshan's family. I have known him for 25 years, even before he became a star. Beyond his stardom, Darshan is like a family member to me, like a son. He always referred to Ambareesh as his father and gave me a special place in his life. No mother likes to see her son in such a situation."

Furthermore, she clarified how Darshan is as a person and how he would never commit a crime, "I know Darshan as a man with a loving and generous heart. His compassion for animals and willingness to help those in need testify to his character. I believe Darshan is not the type of person to commit such a crime," wrote Sumalatha.

She concluded by urging the fans to remain calm and criticizing those who are speaking foul against Darshan's wife and son, "Darshan is still an accused; nothing has been proven against him, nor has he been punished. Let Darshan get a fair trial," she reportedly wrote.

For the unversed, Darshan was arrested on June 11 for allegedly being involved in the murder of a fan, Renukaswamy. Apart from Darshan, it was his friend, Pavithra, who was accused of the same.
