launch
of
'Zee
Kannada'.
A
24-hour
'Zee-Kannada',
the
second
South
Indian
television
pay-channel
launched
after
success
of
Zee-Telugu,
would
be
start
beaming
programmes
from
0500
hrs
tomorrow.
Announcing
this
at
a
press
conference
here,
he
said
that
the
new
channel
was
presented
to
the
people
of
Karnataka
after
studying
their
needs
and
choice
after
a
detailed
survey.
'Zee-Kannada'
is
the
27th
Channel
from
the
Zee
group.
He
said
the
'Zee-Kannada'
was
a
tribute
to
the
spirit
of
Kannadigas
and
promised
that
by
providing
best
service
and
quality
programs
would
strive
to
become
number
One
Kannada
channel
within
one
year.
He
said
that
his
company
has
taken
the
southern
market
very
seriously
and
was
committed
to
serve
the
customers
to
the
best
of
their
requirements.
He
said
that
it
is
proposed
to
launch
soon
the
'Zee-Malayalam'
and
'Zee
Tamil'
channels.
Zee-Kannada
Business
Head
Ajay
Kumar,
speaking
on
the
occasion,
said
that
Zee
group's
unique
combination
of
business
and
growth
opportunities
both
in
India
and
globally,
give
it
a
niche
position
in
the
global
media
space.
From
Zee
TV
to
Zee
Kannada,
the
company
was
able
to
bring
together
the
most
valuable
media
brands,
which
will
support
the
commitment
to
deliver
consistent
growth.
Describing
the
entertainment
industry
in
Karnataka
was
in
upswing,
he
said
that
the
Zee
Telefilms
wants
to
make
best
use
of
the
situation.
The
estimated
advertisement
revenue
from
the
Kannada
Channel
was
around
Rs
180
Crores
and
expressed
confidence
that
it
would
enhance
further
and
Zee
Kannada
will
also
have
its
substantial
share.
He
said
the
channel
would
be
available
in
the
regions
of
Old
Mysore,
Mumbai-Karnataka,
Hyderabad-Karnataka
and
the
coastal
region
ensuring
better
linkage
of
culture
and
heritage
of
all
these
areas.
He
said
the
programs
included
serials
cast
with
popular
faces,
telefilms,
non-fiction
game
shows,
talk
shows
and
also
news
and
current
affairs
besides
other
programs
focused
to
have
the
attention
of
all
age
groups
of
men
and
women
and
children.
He
said
that
the
launch
was
delayed
due
to
sudden
demise
of
Kannada
Matinee
Idol
Dr
Rajkumar
last
month
and
expressed
confidence
that
the
new
channel
would
capture
the
needs,
moods,
sentiments
and
aspirations
of
Kannada
speaking
people
across
the
country
and
also
abroad.
