Anand moves to big screens

The huge success of Mungaru Male is seen as a victory for established faces of the small screen, as the film has a number of anchors and actors from small screen donning the lead roles. In fact, this trend has motivated some Kannada film producers to experiment with popular TV anchors.

Actor-Producer Vishnukaanth, who had earlier acted in the title role of an award winning film Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, has now opted for another popular Anchor Anand in a new film titled Manasugala Maathu Madhura. It was launched recently.

In the muhurath shot, the film's new hero Anand who is already an established face in the U2 Channel confidently uttered the film dialogues 'Geltivi, Gedde Gelthivi' which told many things about the confidence level of the people involved in the project. The director of the film Manju Maskal Matti said that it is a feel good love story and the role is tailor made for young Anand. He added that this youthful would touch the heart and minds of the audience.

Anand sounded a little philosophical when he said "I really do not know what is in store for me. But I did prove popular in my channel work. This is my first film and I will try my best to prove something".

The heroine of the film Haripriya seems to be more focused on numerology and stars. "I will leave it to my luck. According to my horoscope, my name should have started from the letter H for achieving success. I have followed this advice," said the actress whose original name is Shruthi. Anyway, she had to change the name for other reasons also as there is already the more popular Shruthi in the Kannada film industry.

Even Shruthi had a change of name when she entered the film industry. She had the name of Priyadharshini and had even acted in a film with that name. When she acted in Dwarakish directed Shruthi, her name was also changed.
