The Censor Board raided a theatre (Aparna Theatre), which was showing the Kannada blue film Romachana on Monday. The film was being screened with the censored portions of the film. The punchline of the film read "A thrilling Magic Show". The raid was raided twenty minutes into the evening show screening of the film.

After the theatre manager Mruthyunjaya and operator Nagaraj were arrested, the police had the tickets refunded. Censor Board regional officer A Chandrashekar commented on the situation saying that the film was issued with a U certificate after five cuts were asked to be made. By showing the film with the cut portions, they stand in violation of Section 7 of the Cinematograph Act.

The raid was conducted after the Censor Board's advisory panel members watched the film and submitted a report in connection with it. Based on the report submitted, it was decided that the theatre be raided. The next step will be to submit the confiscated prints to the Court. The film has been produced by Raji Rajesh of Ravi Creations.
