jayamala making film on Almatty issue!

jayamala, the actress famous for the Sabarimala shrine issue, along with Unnikrishna Panickar, is going to come up with a meaningful project based on her research work on the Almatty Dam.

Very recently, the actress had submitted her thesis on the Almatty Dam issue (the dam built on the river Krishna near Belgaum which became a cause of rift with the neighbouring state Andhra Pradesh) for her doctoral degree, and the Bangalore University has awarded her a doctorate for her 5- year- old research work. She has done her micro level research on the farmers who suffered due to loss of land during the dam construction.

Now the actress- turned- research scholar has taken up the issue again and is planning to do a film on this issue.

jayamala said: "When I completed my research work, I dontemplated presenting the thesis in the celluloid format for many years. I did my research on the Almatty issue for 5 years. What I saw then moved me deeply. I only want to show to the entire nation how badly the poor farmers have suffered due to the dam construction."
