Avva for 2008

Kavita Lankesh"s much-awaited Avva will be released early next year. The movie, based on an episode from the novel Mussanjeya Katha Prasanga by P Lankesh, stars Vijay and newcomer Smitha in the lead.

Pyramid Saimira Theatre Ltd produces the film starring Shruthi Mahendar and Raganyan Raghu in pivotal roles. Home Minister MP Prakash, who had earlier agreed to play the role of Gowda in the film, opted out due to his busy schedules and is replaced by Siddaraj Kalyankar. Madhu Ambat cranks the camera and Issac Thomas Kottukapally helms the music.

Kavitha Lankesh's earler hit films include Bimba, Deveeri, Preethi Prema Pranaya and Thananam Thananam. The latest rumours making rounds about Avva: it includes a kissing scene.
