Director Seetharama Karanth who is known for his maverick ways has done it again. This controversial director who makes news more for his off screen tiffs with producers, artists and technicians than his on screen achievements has again floored the producers of Jambada Hudugi through his perverted antics.
This time around the hapless producer Mohan Gowda was at the receiving end of Karanth's antics. Half way through the film he has signed a no objection letter and walked out of the film but this 'intelligent' director has ensured that he gets his full pack of remuneration for doing a shoddy half way work.
Mohan Gowda and Ms. Priya Hasan, the heroine of the film who is also doing the director's job addressed a press conference on Saturday to allege that Karanth had infact misused their trust in him and had not cared to complete the film.
"He does not want to work with such an eminent award winning editor like Janardhan. Even the sequences we had discussed before finalising the script were not shot and Karanth had his own way of creating new sequences. This was not acceptable to us and we did caution him from the beginning. But he did not heed to our request and continued with his non co-operative attitude.
Finally, he told us one day that he is not interested to work in our film and then we were forced to accept his plea. We took a letter in writing which was like a no objection certificate for using another director. Even now we are prepared to accommodate if Karanth mends his ways and work to our satisfaction. But he is not interested in our work and told us that money is important to him than the work' charged Mohan Gowda.
Then the journalists present wanted to hear the version of Seetharam Karanth. Karanth came down the venue of the press conference and argued that he had done his best for the film. He said the allegations of non co-operation and non compatibility with some technicians were baseless. However, his argument looked far from convincing and Priya Hassan countered Karanth many a times with the facts.
