Upendra, Darshan combo in Anaatharu

Now, it is public. The title of the Upendra-Darshan starrer produced by Munirathna and directed by Sadhu Kokila has been finalised. On the penultimate day of the shooting of the film, producer Munirathna announced that the film had been titled Anaatharu. The makers of the film think that the title fits the film, as the two heroes are orphans. Now, the entire shooting of this first Upendra-Darshan combo has ended.

Director Sadhu Kokila said that the film's completion was delayed mainly because the film needed extra care at every point. “It is an intense film and nothing could be done to take things easy with regard to this film. The makeup of Upendra did take lot of time and the shooting had to be done in different locations. And there were some critical moments when Upendra and Darshan fell sick. We have shot for nearly eighty days to complete this film," said Sadhu who has worked with the two big heroes in different films. He added that he had not found any difficulty in directing them together in Anaatharu.

“I have worked with both of them as an artist, director and have composed music for their films. I don"t feel that I am a director of the film and they do not present any starry airs to me. And in the film Anaatharu I am presenting both the stars in a fashion that is totally different. While Upendra who is known for his dialogue delivery in films does not speak a single word in the film, it is Darshan who does all the talking. And Darshan has not spoken so much of dialogues in any other film," said Sadhu.

Munirathna decided to cast Uppendra and Darshan together, as the film needs two big heroes but he thought they would give the director a hard time. But reality proved him wrong. "He was bit apprehensive as both the artists had a large fan following. But from day one they have been like close friends and I did not imagine that work will go so smooth. I left everything to Sadhu Kokila and I had an easy time during the making of this film," said Munirathna.

Both Upendra and Darshan were happy about the film and said that they had done different type of roles. “I have never done this type of role in my career. I think I have spoken more dialogues in this film than in any other film. Uppi sir was a great company. I have always been his great fan and used to ask many questions to him. Frankly, I want to say it was a great learning experience also for me," said Darshan.

Uppi also expressed happiness over the opportunity to work with Darshan, but said it was the combination of Munirathna and Sadhu Kokila which has made it easy for them to work. “Both of them take active interest in the making of the film. Yes, we have worked for more number of days, but it is only because we were all interested to see that the film comes good," said Upendra.

A song sequence featuring Upendra, Darshan, Sanghavi, Radhika and Rambha, who is doing an item song in the film was being picturised in the Bangalore Palace.
