Kannada actor and Central Minister ambareesh, frustrated at his defeat in the Assembly election, skipped his birthday party. ambareesh is known to have organized huge parties as part of his birthday celebrations. ambareesh, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, who is called Ambi by his friends, became 57 on Thursday. The defeat in Srirangapatna constituency has shocked him. Just hours after the results were announced, ambareesh, accompanied by his wife and son, flew to Malaysia.
He was elected to the Lok Sabha in the 2004 polls. This is his second attempt to enter the Karanataka assembly. Several leading film stars of the Kannada film industry had campaigned for ambareesh, but they failed to impress the voters.
