Anusuya, the Telugu hit movie starring Bhumika Chawla, Abbas and Nikitha, is being remade in Kannada. The movie stars Pooja Gandhi and Rashmi, who shot to fame with Mugaru Male and Duniya respectively.

The Kannada remake titled Anu, is a thriller produced by Balu. It is in post-production work and special effects were completed within 12 days at Rajan Special Effects Studio situated near Hebbal in Bangalore. The audio, which took a major part of the special effect work, plays a major role in this film. Normally, the special effects work would be over in three or four days, but Anu being a thriller with every scene being a shocker, the work was extra special and detailed, said producer Balu.

Telugu film Shivaganapathi's assistant director is directing the Kannada remake. Cinematography has been handled by Niranjan Babu.

Pooja Gandhi plays the role of a crime reporter who stumbles on some dark secrets during the course of her work while Rashmi plays a medical student. The male lead is played by Nagkiran. The producer Balu also has a cameo in this heroine-oriented movie.

Dattanna, Sunderraj, Balraj, Sangamesh Upase are starring in supporting roles.
