Bhanupriya returns to films

Bhanupriya, the reigning queen of South India during the 90's, is making a welcome comeback in Kannada. She was last seen in Sandalwood in Kadamba opposite Vishnuvardhan (2004). Now she is the heroine opposite Devaraj in Meshtru. Tamil actor Mansoor Ali Khan plays the villain in this film based on a true incident witnessed by director Mahadevu.

K.M. Indra is the music director; B.L. Babu handles the camera. Other cast members include Ananth Nag, C.R. Simha, Petrol Prasanna, Suji Bala and Gundumani.

In her long career, Bhanupriya has acted in all the four South Indian languages and also appeared in some Hindi films. This talented classical dancer has acted in several dance based films which were critically acclaimed. In total, Bhanupriya has acted in more than 111 films as heroine. She was famed for her beauty and was often referred to as the 'other Sridevi'.
