modestly
said
that
luck
played
a
huge
part
in
getting
the
award
at
the
Osian's
film
festival
for
his
Gulabi
Talkies.
He
was
speaking
at
the
get
together
party
conducted
at
Basanth
Residency
in
Gandhinagar,
Bangalore.
He
thanked
the
producer
and
the
people
from
the
three
villages
Madikal,
Kodiki
and
Tharapathi
for
the
contributions
they
made
in
making
the
film.
He
explained
how
he
avoided
the
aspects
which
would
make
the
film
look
beautiful;
and
the
film
has
been
shot
on
16
mm
camera,
which
was
perfect.
Umasri,
who
got
the
award
for
best
actress
at
Osian's
for
her
performance
in
Gulabi
Talkies,
was
also
present
in
the
gathering.
She
opined
that
the
film
should
be
given
a
prime
theatre
opening
although
it
is
an
offbeat
film.
She
also
said
that
she
has
always
been
a
director's
actor
in
her
career
spanning
28
years.
She
urged
KFCC
president
Dr.
Jayamala
to
make
arrangements
for
the
movie's
early
release.
Dr.
Jayamala
reacted
immediately,
saying
she
would
allocate
a
theatre
for
the
film's
release.
She
also
remembered
that
when
she
had
acted
under
the
direction
of
Girish
Kasravalli
in
Thai
Saheba
she
had
won
a
special
Jury
award
at
the
national
level.
Producer
Basanthkumar
Patil
expressed
his
happiness
in
getting
the
award
for
Gulabi
Talkies.
He
had
earlier
produced
Naayi
Neralu
with
Kasaravalli,
which
brought
fame
to
his
banner.
Now
Gulabi
Talkies
has
won
Rs.
20
lakhs
in
prize
money
at
the
Osian's
and
Umasri
won
Rs.2
lakhs.
He
also
announced
a
new
children"s
film
under
the
direction
of
Kasaravalli.
